Our Approach

Google is committed to continuing to make diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do — including how we buy goods and services and the suppliers we partner with. We know that more diversity in our supply base means better products and services for Googlers and our users. That’s why we’re providing access, development and investment in diverse-owned companies through our Supplier Diversity program.

Our Commitments

Google’s supplier diversity efforts began nearly a decade ago - but in the summer of 2020, we committed to do more.

2020

We announced our intention to accelerate supplier diversity, starting with a public goal to spend $1 billion with diverse-owned suppliers and $100 million with Black-owned suppliers in the U.S.

2021

We surpassed our milestone by spending nearly $1.5 billion with certified diverse-owned businesses and over $133 million with Black-owned businesses in the US.

2022

We are setting a goal to grow our spend with diverse suppliers to $2.5 billion. We will also expand our Supplier Diversity program globally.

For eligible diverse-owned suppliers doing business with Google we provide:

Diverse Supplier Accelerated Payments Program - we do our best to pay eligible diverse suppliers within 15 days of invoice approval
Diverse Supplier Certification Access Program - financial and administrative support to become a certified-diverse business
Access to additional coaching, mentorship and growth opportunities

Register with Us

We welcome registrations from diverse-owned businesses globally. A diverse-owned business is one that is majority-owned, operated, and controlled by members of diverse and underrepresented communities. Definitions of diversity and underrepresentation vary by region and country. Third party diversity certification is not required for registration. Eligible self-attested diverse-owned businesses interested in certification may apply for Google’s Diverse Supplier Certification Access Program.

We welcome registrations from US-based businesses that are at least 51% owned and operated by racial or ethnic minorities, women, veterans, persons identifying as LGBT, or persons with a disability.
