2011 Competition

Last year’s winner was Layla Karpuz from Mary, Mother of Hope Junior National School, and our runners up were Ella O'Hagan from Scoil Iosagain, Co. Donegal, Vicky Enright from Salesian Secondary, Limerick and Niamh Byrne from Presentation Secondary School, Tipperary.

Layla’s doodle appeared on www.google.ie for 24 hours on Wednesday, March 9th 2011.

Love Google

My picture is about things that make me feel happy. In my picture you can see love hearts, curls, shamrocks, people with fancy hats, people going on a bear hunt, grass men (men disguised as grass), plants, shamrock plants for Ireland, Grannies and a caterpillar because I like searching for caterpillars, I used different colurs in my picture because it looks nice. I like my picture!

Christmas Happiness

Every weekend we go to the woods for a walk. I like looking at all the animals. Sometimes I see ladybirds and bugs on leaves. I play in the woods with my dog. her name is Maggie. I like it when she barks at the rabbits. I let caterpillars wriggle on my hand. Buzz, Tiger and Granger my cats try to eat them but they spit them out.

Fairy Tale

My Happiness

The beach is one we go to every year in Connemara. The film strip wrapped around the "G" represents watching DVD's and going to the cinema. "O" is in the buttons of the ipod, I love music. The second "O" is one of my set dancing medals. "G" is a girl holding a video controller, I played video games all the time! "L" is a pencil because I LOVE drawing. "E" shows a laughing face, I love laughing with my friends.

The Spirit of Adventure

The sound of the rain under an umbrella. When you know you aren't alone; the sound of someone's heartbeat; the feel of piano keys; the sea; travelling to new places - knowing there is more to know. The complexity of absolutely everything. Where in your mind? A circle becomes a spiral, places on one's been....leaving no one out and how the weather doesn't care. I love ice cream cones!
