DFP Small Business Program Policies

Publishers that choose to use the DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) Small Business service are required to adhere to the following policies. If you fail to comply with these policies, we may disable your DFP Small Business account. In many cases we prefer to work with publishers to achieve policy compliance; however, we reserve the right to not display ads that violate these policies, to disable ad serving on pages that violate these policies or to close offending accounts.

Please note that we may change our policies at any time, and pursuant to our Terms and Conditions, it is your responsibility to keep up to date with and adhere to the policies posted here.

DFP Small Business Use

DFP Small Business is an ad server that allows publishers to manage and sell their website's ad inventory. Publishers may not use the DFP Small Business service to serve anything other than ads to participating sites. For example, using DFP Small Business to serve content such as images or videos instead of ads would be considered a violation of these program policies. In addition, DFP Small Business services may not be used by or transfered to parties other than the original account holder.

DFP Small Business services may not be used to display ad formats that interfere with site navigation, change user preferences, or initiate downloads.

Publishers are permitted to serve up to 90 million impressions per month to non-mobile, non-video ad units using the DFP Small Business service. Publishers are permitted to serve up to 5 million impressions per month to mobile ad units using the DFP Small Business service. Publishers are permitted to serve up to 400,000 video ad impressions per month using the DFP Small Business service.

Privacy

Publishers using the DFP Small Business Service are required to have and abide by an appropriate privacy policy. This policy must be linked from each site using the DFP Small Business service. Included in the posted policy must be notice that cookies are being used to collect anonymous traffic data and an option for users to opt out of the cookie.

Publishers should not include in their DFP Small Business data any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that could be used to identify or track individual end users or use any feature or functionality of DFP Small Business to do so.

Invalid Clicks and Impressions

Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on ads served through DFP Small Business is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Publishers may not click the ads on their sites, request that users click the ads or rely on deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks or impressions. In addition, sites utilizing the DFP Small Business service may not be promoted through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites.

While Google offers broad access to a variety of content in the search index, publishers using the DFP Small Business service may only do so on sites that adhere to our content guidelines, unless authorized to do otherwise by Google.

Use of AdSense

When the DFP Small Business service is used to serve AdSense ads, in addition to the policies outlined above, publishers must comply with AdSense Program Policies and Terms and Conditions on all pages they display Google ads.
