Doodle 4 GoogleThe competition is open to all students attending a school in Ireland. Doodles will be judged in the following four groups:
20 regional finalists will be chosen by Googlers for each judging group in each of the 4 Provinces:
Prizes: Doodle 4 Google certificate
5 regional winners will be chosen by our expert judging panel from each judging group in each region. (please note that this year we did not have enough entries to allow us to put through 20 doodles in the youngest category, therefore we selected two extra doodles from the last category to ensure 80 doodles went through to our public vote)
Prizes: Invite to the prize-giving event in the Google Headquarters in Dublin where they will receive a framed copy of their doodle, a Doodle 4 Google goody bag, and where the finalists and winner will be announced.
The public will be asked to vote online for their favourite doodle from each judging group from the 80 regional winners. The public vote determines the four national winners.
Prizes: Each finalist will receive a laptop and their teacher will also receive a laptop. These winners will be announced at our prize-giving event.
Google's professional doodlers, our web design team based in our Headquarters in California, will pick the overall national winner.
Prizes: The winning doodle will be hosted on Google Ireland's homepage for 24 hours in March 2010 and will be seen by millions of users. The winner's school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
A panel of expert judges from the fields of art, education and entertainment will evaluate the entries based on the following criteria:
