Judging and Prizes

Groups

The competition is open to all students attending a school in the Republic of Ireland. Doodles will be judged in the following five groups:

Judging Process

300 Semi-Finalists

We will select the best 15 doodles from each of our five class groups, across each of the four regions. Our regions are the four provinces: Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connaught.

Prizes: Doodle 4 Google certificate

75 Finalists

Finalists will be chosen by our expert judging panel across the age groups and regions.

Prizes: Invite to the prize-giving event in the Google Headquarters in Dublin where the Class Group Winners and Overall Winner will be announced, as well as a framed copy of their doodle, a Doodle 4 Google goody bag and a t-shirt with their doodle printed on it.

5 Class Group Winners

The public will be asked to vote online for their favourite doodle in each class group. The public vote determines the five Class Group Winners.

Prizes: Each Class Group Winner will receive a laptop as will their teacher. These winners will be announced at our prize-giving event.

1  Overall Winner

Google's professional doodlers, from our web design team based in our Headquarters in California, will pick the Overall Winner.

Prizes: The winning doodle will be hosted on Google Ireland's homepage for 24 hours in March 2012 and will be seen by millions of users. The winner's school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
