This 1991 Mercedes-814L has been configured as a tow truck with a sleeper cab, and is equipped with a roll-back tow bed. Prior to being imported to the US by the seller in 2015, the truck was used by a car dealer in Bitburg, Germany and for personal use as a track car hauler. Power comes from a 6.0L Mercedes-Benz diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The chassis is equipped with hydraulic lifters to accomodate cars with low ride heights. Other equipment includes a winch, a rear wheel-lift system for towing a second vehicle, and necessary straps for securing loads. 62k kilometers (~39k miles) are shown, and the seller notes a previous repaint in silver. This Mercedes is offered with a clean Arizona title.

1991 Mercedes-Benz 814L Car Hauler

The previous owner had the truck painted silver to match his Porsche racecar about five years ago. The color change included the door jambs and other interior surfaces. The load bed is of the roll-back type. As configured, vehicles can be loaded by either sliding the bed back, or using sliding ramps housed under the bed floor.

A walkaround video is attached above.

A hydraulic winch is mounted to the forward part of the bed, and a hydraulic chassis lift system is in place to improve approach angles for very low vehicles. Per the seller the rear of the truck can be lowered about three inches.

Per the seller, the hydraulic systems checked over before the truck was imported from Germany. Some surface rust is noted on the truck bed, and other areas of the frame, suspension, and hydraulic system are further shown in the gallery below.
