Description

The Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was a high-performance version of the Ford Sierra. It was the result of a Ford Motorsport project with the purpose of producing an outright winner for Group A racing in Europe. Launched in July 1986, and 5545 were manufactured in total, of which 500 were sent to Tickford for conversion to the Sierra three-door RS500 Cosworth. This is one of those cars. The RS500 featured; thicker wall cylinder block, larger turbo and intercooler, second set of injectors and fuel rail, better fuel and cooling systems. on the outside, front spoiler and that huge whale tail at the rear. Most of the 500 were black, 56 white and 52 moonstone.

Not only did the car do well in Touring car racing and Rallying in Europe, but in Australia won the Touring Car championship and Bathurst in 1988 and 1989. Some say Dick Johnsons Sierras were the fastest in the World
