O'Leary knows Cork must improve

Cork's Noel O'Leary will captain the Munster footballers on Sunday
Noel O'Leary says Cork have their experience to thank for qualifying for Sunday's Allianz Football League final.

The long-serving half back contends that Cork haven't been firing on all cylinders this spring and that they have much to improve on.

"We'd only be reasonably happy with our displays of late, and we know we are going to have to put it together for the full 70 minutes on Sunday in order to get over a Mayo team that can't be taken lightly," he explained to the Corkman.

"We were in trouble against Mayo up in Castlebar, five points behind and down a man with about 20 minutes to go, but the introduction of a few new lads, particularly Paul Kerrigan, made a big difference.

"I suppose the bit of experience stood to us as well, we didn't lose the head when under pressure and, while we played poorly for much of that game, it was a good win for us because it's never easy to beat Mayo up there."
