Pretty good Irish pub in Dublin not too far from the Grand Canal Docks area.
We ordered onion rings, pan fried fillet of salmon, soup bowl, and a few pints of Guinness. Service was okay and the interior was unique.
The onion rings were extra crispy (ordering extra sauce is additional charge and they forgot to bring the hot sauce) and the salmon was well cooked and surprisingly quite good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 20, 2023Previous reviewNice pub in Dublin with okay service, but the food was quite good. We ordered onion rings, pan fried fillet of salmon, soup bowl and a few Guinness.
The salmon was well cooked, the onion rings were double fried, but on the extra crispy and crunchy side. We asked for both BBQ and spicy sauce, but had to ask for the spicy sauce again which was an extra charge... - 7111312Oct 1, 2021
Here from the states, busy place! Service a bit slow. 2 ordered the beef pot pie, and one ordered fish n chips. The pot pie was amazing! The fish and chips were cold and way too much breading..... no one ever came to check on us. We had to ask for check, asked for separate checks, and she only brought one bill .... We went to leave and a guy chased us down asking if we paid... money was on the table. I get it was busy but really? Sorry, no pics.

I got a chicken head in my chicken wings. End of story.
Ok not end of story. The beer was quite good. Hard to get a waiter until the whole chicken head thing. The food was uninspiring, until of course, the chicken head.
That inspired me to post.
I've been to other Galway owned pubs: black sheep jumps to mind. At that time the food was your typical pub fare, but fairly good quality.
The Gasworks then, I had assumed, would be a safe place to bring my lady. Nope.
Chicken head in the wings. I can't make it any worse.
Taking that into account, and that the manager almost had a heart attack.. I'll give this place 2 of 5 stars. (Thanks for the illegal pint of foam and fury!)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Suzanne C.Oklahoma City, OK1110890Mar 20, 2019
Although I can only comment on our experience, I think this place deserves a better rating than it has. We had been seriously craving some wings while staying at the connecting hotel and Gasworks hit the nail on the head. The wings were pretty good, plenty of sauce and cooked well. They had an impressive beer selection, several from Galway Bay. I took away one star because service was a little inattentive after we got our dood which was frustrating. Overall great place for wings, beer, and music.

Galway run pub attached to my hotel. Great staff, good tap selection. Mushroom pasta wasnt great, but I was hungry and it did the job. Didn't eat there a second time.
Bar staff is great, and place seemed busy every time I walked by.
American football was on all 3 big screens on Sunday, and I heard a lot of American accents from both local workers and tourists from the hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelly N.Floyd, VA37132May 18, 2019
The place was very loud and crowded so they put us at a table out in the lobby. I know this place doesn't have the best reviews but we enjoyed the food. My seafood chowder was the best I've ever had. Others had the pork belly and pasta that were good, not great.
Our waiter seemed to disappear at times but was good when we could grab him.
Decent selection of alcohol.
Good choice for a hotel restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike M.West Grove, PA018511Jul 16, 2017
Really nice people and good selection on their food and drink menus
We ended up back at this place most nights as we were staying at the hotel connected. During the week the place is really busy due to being in the business district, but weekends were really nice as not really crowded.
They even offer multiple vegetarian/vegan menu items and an excellent selection of Irish Whiskeys.. All very good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Connie C.Austin, TX1513455Dec 12, 2019
I actually quite enjoy this place. I love how it's pretty big on the inside and that you have a couple different options for seating from a more intimate dining area to just sitting at the bar. They usually have a good amount of TVs on so you can watch whatever game is on that night. The food we've gotten is always been good and I especially enjoy the chips. They have a little bit of extra crunch the iPhone especially enjoyable. The portions are usually pretty good size and price is a pretty reasonable. We even ventured and tried the cauliflower based wings as an alternative option last time we went. They had a bit of a kick the overall really good and I would definitely try again.

This place is kind of a train wreck as far as service. Maybe this was because we were trying to order a late dinner. We could not get anyone to take our order. After waiting at a table we got a seat at the bar and we're able to order food and drink.
They do have a large beer selection but it is hard to see what they have as the beers are listed on a caulk board that is dark and you have to hover behind people to see. Have a beer list for crying out loud! Describe the beer, where from, ABV, etc
Lastly they tried to charge me for a beer I did not receive. Double check your bills people.
Overall fish and chips were ok and Irish burger was pretty good but I was crabby due to the service issues.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ros L.Dublin, Republic of Ireland29824Nov 11, 2016
When we walked in here during lunch hour midweek and it was almost empty we should have realised that it probably wasn't a great lunch spot. The room is cool and casual and the menu is nice - has a bit of everything.
I had the falafel wrap and sweet potato chips. The chips were yum but the wrap was quite unappetising. The falafel was soggy and quite bland. I didn't have regular chips but everyone else I was with did and said they weren't great. The food also took about 25 minutes to come out - this is not ideal when in a hurry to make it back to the office after lunch!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
