There will no ceasefire: that's the latest message from Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, as he asks the world to back the country's war against Hamas. Gaza's health ministry says more than 8,300 people have been killed in Israel's assault; 1,400 people were killed by Hamas and 229 people taken hostage on October 7. In Gaza, children are paying a heavy price in the conflict: the organisation Save the Children reports that thousands are being killed. Overnight, Israeli forces briefly cut Gaza in two, as Israel's military moves deeper into the territory.
