Boost pressure sensor

Hi I'm having some boost issues and the garage has told me the boost pressure sensor is faulty , can someone advise me on which part exactly I need for an e92 320d 2008
. I've found some on eBay but most say map sensor. Is it the same thing? Thanks

The invoice says boost pressure sensor, it's right at the top of the engine to the right. Little sensor that just clips together he pointed at

Hi just been to euros for that sensor but that's not the one the mechanic unclipped. That map sensor 13627804742 is under the plastic cover on top of the engine where as the one he unclipped was to the right of it attached to another plastic pipe

That looks like part 7 intake air temp sensor part number 13627792203
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_4100

You can test the air intake sensor with a meter to see if it is close to the specs by temperature outside.. Specs are at bottom of page.. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...sensor/Xtcp0tO

Thanks that seems more like it , the map sensor seems the more likely culprit to be giving me the boost issues so perhaps it was that first part after all

Reading the description, the temp sensor can turn off boost also...
"If a defect is detected on the charge-air temperature sensor, the DDE control unit reacts as follows:

Charge-air-pressure control is deactivated
Exhaust gas recirculation is deactivated
The fuel injection rate is limited (torque limitation)"

Thanks that's very interesting, I think I will have to go back to the garage and get them to confirm exactly which part it is that I need. Thanks for your help and those part numbers will be very handy for purchasing correct part

P245A error code. Please help with diagnosis.

I am fairly sure this is the boost pressure solenoid on my 2012 e90 I just purchased.

Genuine 15000 miles, yellow light in dash.

Fault code p245a (I think this is same as s485c OR $07e8)

Plug to this solenoid was disconnected.
But code seems to relate to EGR cooler, bypass valve, activation: Open circuit

Car seemed to run OK, with no turbo issues.

I reconnected connector, cleared fault, took car for a good test. No turbo issues, tested up to 70 mph.

No light on dash, but same error returns as soon as car re-started.

Confused that only error on car seems to relate to egr cooler but the boost pressure sensor was disconnected and I get same code (on next re-start) when it is reconnected.

Any suggestions on what / how to test both items with a meter would be appreciated.
