Junya Watanabe MAN Spring/Summer 19

Although Junya Watanabe has drawn a lot of inspiration from military pieces in numerous collections before, nothing comes close to the Spring/Summer 19 collection the Japanese designer showcased on the runway in Paris for his Junya Watanabe MAN label.

The collection blends Junya's love for tailored and checkered pieces with heavy utilitarian designs which includes a broad range of vests, chest rigs and bags in several different patterns and colourways. Camouflage also made its way into the line-up on everything from blazers, trousers, shirts and headwear. One of the standout pieces however was the vest featuring solar panels integrated at the back, something which is not unfamiliar to the designer.
