Alexa Chung has announced the inevitable - she is launching her own fashion brand in May 2017.
The style influencer has previously designed collections for AG Jeans, Marks and Spencer and Madewell, but this is the first time she's gone solo. Having hired Edwin Bodson - formerly head of atelier at Haider Ackermann - as managing editor, Chung will oversee a six-person design team.
The contemporary-priced collection will be available from Selfridges, Matchesfashon.com and MyTheresa.
"With this first collection, I aim not only to delight your eyeballs but to furnish your wardrobe with all of your soon-to-be favourite pieces," she said.
While there are no specifics on what the collection might look like, these are our predictions of what we can expect:
They were the sell-out hit of her Marks and Spencer collection, and Chung manages to wear without looking matronly which is a feat unto itself.
Consistently, the footwear of choice for Chung - bar wellies which she favours at Glastonbury. This preppy favourite will undoubtedly pop up in her denut solo collection.
Chung is a self-confessed navy jumper fiend (a girl after our own hearts), so expect to see a classic incarnation in a flattering, high quality knit in her offering.
Chung loves a trouser suit, as do we. She's big into Gucci's curtain-like brocade styles and Oscar Wilde-esque velvet jackets.
She's never deviated from her love of tea dresses, worn in the mid-Noughties with ballet pumps and this season with utility boots.
Chung's AG Jeans collection was hugely successful and she loves vintage-inspired denim, so we predict a pair of classic straight leg jeans in the offing, as well as a pair of high-waisted denim cut-off shorts.
