“Loveee the BAYANGGG,” one follower commented, while others have pointed out it looks similar to the fringe Bey wore for one of her noughties music videos. “It's giving me, myself and I” one fan noted referring to the singer's hit song. Another was quick to note that she posted the pic exactly 18 years to the day since Me, Myself and I was released. Perhaps Queen Bey is ushering a new era for the side-fringe.

So, yep. Short choppy side-fringes look like they're making their way back. That said, we're pretty sure Shay was testing the waters with hers. On closer inspection, we reckon her wispy fringe was created by her hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, using the end of her ponytail – so there's one option if you're not quite ready to commit yet.

Other celebs have interpreted the side fringe slightly differently. Jessica Rabbit glam is trending and we've spotted Dua Lipa, Madison Beer and Kendall Jenner all rocking a longer, swishier side-swept fringe, which bonus, is versatile enough to be tied back, re-styled in the centre, or tucked behind ears on days when you want it off your face.
