Howth Harbour is one of the liveliest spots in the village of Howth. It has to be said that the village lives mainly from tourism and fishing, to the rhythm of the tides and the comings and goings of the boats! A place of authentic charm!
Howth Harbour is far from being a gigantic port: reasonable in size, it is mainly used by pleasure sailboats and net fishing boats. This is where fishermen come to unload their cargoes, and sell their latest arrivals at the auction!
It has to be said that the fish here is ultra-fresh, and offered at rather attractive prices!
Don’t miss a stroll along the jetty: some of the boats are well worth admiring, and the yachtsmen and fishermen can sometimes be rather easygoing with visitors! Not to mention, of course, the view from the Howth Lighthouse.
Not to mention 3 great restaurants along the harbor: you’ll love Octopussys Seafood Tapas, Oar House and Aqua. On the menu are typical dishes from traditional Irish cuisine, featuring local fish products!
The perfect way to prolong the moment with a gastronomic break overlooking the sea!
