Malin Beg is sure to appeal to lovers of wilderness and seascapes.

After a few twists and turns through the green hills of Donegal, you’ll suddenly come upon a magnificent stretch of fine sand bordered by the emerald waters of the Irish Sea.

Magnificent, it offers a superb stretch of fine white sand, with crystal-clear waters and an impressive natural setting. Surrounded by high cliffs, Silver Strand is accessed by a staircase, which reinforces its secluded, almost secretive appearance.

More than a kilometer of deserted beach awaits you, with the Slieve League mountain range and its impressive cliffs as your only backdrop.

As the tides and winds change, the ever-changing landscape reveals immense tidal flats ideal for strolling, as well as vast stretches of golden sand fringed by wild coves.

Malin Beg can be beautiful whatever the weather, but it can also be very dangerous in stormy weather. If the weather is fine, it’s best to take a trip on site to enjoy the unobstructed views and optimal conditions for enjoying the water and sand of the beach!

Here, Malin Beg beach offers a raw, sea-spray-swept backdrop. A timeless atmosphere conducive to meditation facing the ocean, with only the steady crash of the waves in the background.

The site is also a prime spot for surfers and swimmers who appreciate the fresh, invigorating waters without any pollution. Families won’t be left out, with fabulous sand castles to build and hours of play on the foreshore at low tide!

Finally, Silver Strand is perfect for lovers looking for a romantic spot away from the world. It’s also renowned for its on-site picnics and marriage proposals!

A real little paradise for holidaymakers looking for peace and quiet, wild nature and a place to swim!

It’s easy to get to, and there’s plenty of parking. Don’t forget to bring your beach bag, swimsuit, sun cream (yes, yes!) and towels: it’s a really tempting place to take a dip… as long as the water is the right temperature (believe us, in winter it’s almost mission impossible!).
