Visit Slieve League.

These unique cliffs have nothing to envy the Cliffs of Moher!

At 601 meters high, the Slieve League cliff in County Donegal is the second highest in Europe. Massive, imposing and sheer as can be, the cliff is a feast for the eyes. Literally plunging into the ocean, the cliffs are impressive and almost vertiginous!

Discover the terrible reputation of Irish roads!

To visit Slieve League, we advise you to take the bus or your rental car if necessary. Access to the cliffs is via a narrow, winding road, which confirms the reputation of the poor state of Irish roads. Chills guaranteed!

The journey takes no more than ten minutes (for 5km), and we recommend that you take great care when negotiating bends and speed bumps: if you do, you’ll be shaken up quite a bit.

Good to know: the road you’ll be driving on will sometimes be blocked by a barrier. Don’t hesitate to lift it and close it behind you: the owners of the land kindly allow visitors a right of way, provided they close the fences behind you.

A breathtaking panorama

You’ll be rewarded for your efforts: once you’ve reached the end of the path, park your car and admire this breathtaking spectacle. A belvedere offers a breathtaking view of the cliffs and the Atlantic. If you’d like to get to the top of the cliff, don’t hesitate to take the “One Man’s Pass”, a short path that winds along the cliffs to their highest point. However, we recommend that you take great care on this walk: if the wind is blowing hard, avoid walking on the edge of the precipice… (La Falaise has no barriers or railings).

However, this walk will give you access to one of the most spectacular views in the region: the cliffs rub shoulders with the clouds and the ocean, and the shades of green, grey and blue are breathtaking! Not to mention the small lakes on the other side of the cliffs, shimmering in all their transparency against the changing colors of the sky. In short, the area is ideal for a short hike and will delight even the most demanding photographers!
