Torc Waterfall is a superb waterfall in the heart of Ireland’s Killarney National Park. Located in one of the park’s wild forests, the cascade and its waterfalls are awe-inspiring 18 metres high. The site is particularly popular with tourists, especially those making the Ring of Kerry circuit.
Torc Waterfall lies at the foot of Torc Mountain, one of the largest mountains in Killarney National Park.
Less than 8km from Killarney town, the waterfall is accessible not only to hikers, but also to cars, thanks to the parking lot at the entrance to the site.
At a height of 18 meters, the waterfalls of the cascade will allow you to contemplate the wild beauty of a nature still untamed. Enormous boulders polished by the fury of the water are found here and there in the cascade, making this a most striking spectacle.
The forest provides a magnificent backdrop for these waterfalls, and you’ll be amazed by the powerful sound of the water cascading over the rocks!
For the more athletically inclined, there’s a steeply sloping path leading up to the waterfall, and then on to an exceptional viewpoint overlooking the waterfall and its surroundings…
During your walk, you’ll be able to enjoy the spray from the waterfall, which will make your journey rather pleasant! (especially in summer… in winter, a good kaway is recommended).
It’s sure to be an unforgettable experience, even on a rainy day!
