Complicated Love

Rate this book
Ella fancies the pants off Adam, who wouldn’t, he’s hot! But being shy and awkward, she doesn’t know how to make her feelings known. Besides, boys always pick Sophie over her, so what would be the point anyway?

Best friends from the age of four, Ella never lets anything come between her and Sophie – especially boys. But when Adam arrives on the scene, Sophie makes it her mission to make him hers and Ella has to sit back and watch her best friend be deliriously happy with the man of her dreams.

Adam has a chequered past and is known for being a bit of player, a different woman every night and no desire to ever settle down and get married. That is until he meets Ella!
The minute Adam lays eyes on Ella he wants her, but unfortunately so does Josh, his brother, who gets there first and asks Ella out. Adam has no choice but to let Josh go for it, and so decides the next best thing is Sophie.

After being thrown together for a weekend in London, Adam and Ella finally admit their true feeling for one another and decide that they have to be together. But when they get home Sophie is waiting with a bomb that will turn their world upside down!

Will Adam and Ella ever find a way to be together? Or has destiny got other plans for them?

This is the debut novel for this author and as such, it is really quite good.

I would have to say that I hate Adam, I am what a sleaze bag, getting girls pregnant and all. You have to doubt the strengths of his feelings for Ella and can see why Ella would not give up her trip for him. I mean come on, the guy has the emotional immaturity and randiness of an 18 year old, not a grown man of 29 years old.

Ella although you like her in the book at times, is a naive young girl who falls for the older guy. I can understand why she makes the decisions she makes as she is immature and ignorant. I really hoped that she would have had a back-bone and had stood her ground and not given into her feelings for Adam again at the end, because as we can all see, Adam at the end just does what he does best, sticking his Xick into some other chick.

I do hope that in the sequel that Ella comes back, having spent time on her OE and know what she wants to do, that her experience with Adam, having an abortion and being able to get some independence would have made her a strong confident woman who has accepted that Adam is her past and that she can move on in the future without him and without being weak with him (because that is the most annoying character flaw she had in this book). I hope that she moves on with her life with no regrets. As for Adam, I can see him getting it on with the baby mama and then marrying her, probably getting her pregnant again (lol because that is all it seems he does to girls). I hope that he thinks he is happy until he sees Ella again and this time, he knows that him moving on instead of sticking to his plan to wait for her to come back from her OE and proving to her he can be trusted was the worst mistake he ever made as Ella would not give him the time of day again as she doesn't need him now and has a better future without him in it.

Who knows what the sequel will be but I am looking forward to it!
