Make a Vintage-Inspired Lace Doily Table Runner

Materials Needed
- cloth doilies in varying shapes and sizes
- gold lace trim in varying designs and widths
- hot glue gun
- hot glue sticks
- scissors
- sewing needle
- ivory thread

To start, roll out the gold trim into various lengths. Keep some long and cut others into smaller pieces that work well with your doily's shapes and sizes.

Attach Trim
For some doilies, simply hot-glue gold trim in a circular pattern or along the edges (Image 1). For others, use a glue gun to attach trim in interesting patterns (Image 2). Get creative, and play up the intricate design of each doily.
Choose Layout
Once you have completed several doilies, group them together into an eye-pleasing "run." Start by placing the larger doilies in the center, then fan out to include the smaller ones (Image 1). Once you have the layout you like, pin them together to hold them in position (Image 2).
Sew Into Place
Once your layout is finalized, attach the doilies to one another by using a simple sewing stitch. You can use hot glue to fuse them together, but we recommend sewing for better durability. Just a few strong stitches between each
