Old foes in trouble again?

The Central Competitions Control Committee could launch an investigation into an incident which took place during the Munster final involving Kerry's Paul Galvin and Cork's Noel O'Leary.

The old sparring partners were at it again during the first half of the Killarney decider, which the Kingdom won on a 1-16 to 0-17 scoreline. With Sligo referee Marty Duffy having not seen the incident, disciplinary chiefs could now take things into their own hands and may issue the pair with retrospective bans.

If that happens, Galvin would miss Kerry's All-Ireland quarter-final on the August Bank Holiday weekend, while O'Leary would sit out Cork's fourth round All-Ireland qualifier at the end of the month.

There has been no love lost between the pair over the years. After O'Leary finally won an All-Ireland medal in 2010, Galvin sent him a text that read something along the lines of: "Congrats on the win - now would you please retire and leave me alone."
