Amy Adams and Isla Fisher set to co-star in a film about how they're basically twins
There’s plenty to be excited about in Tom Ford’s hugely anticipated second feature, Nocturnal Animals.
The follow-up to his beloved 2009 film A Single Man sees the fashion designer adapting another novel, this time the 1993 book Tony and Susan by Austin Wright.
The plot involves a married woman, Susan, who receives a manuscript from her ex-husband who she hasn’t spoken to in years. It turns out to be a tense thriller containing insights into their relationship, and the film follows the story-within-a-story as well.
Perhaps most exciting is that Nocturnal Animals will co-star Amy Adams and Isla Fisher, appearing together in a film for the first time as Ford acknowledged their oft-noted resemblance.
Adams will play Susan, while Fisher plays the wife featured in her ex-husband’s manuscript.
“Isla’s character, as the wife of the inside story, represents Amy’s character, so I was thrilled that I got to cast both of them,” Ford told Entertainment Weekly.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays a dual role in the film, which also stars Armie Hammer, Michael Shannon and Ellie Bamber.
Nocturnal Animals is due for release in cinemas from November 18.
