Noctilucent Clouds in Dorset?
An absolutely incredible experience over at Knowlton Church, photographing the rare phenomena that is Noctilucent clouds, located high in the stratosphere at around 200,000 feet and made from tiny ice particles.
Words can not describe how incredible it was to see my first noctilucent clouds this morning, the extremely rare high clouds are formed from ice crystals in the Mesosphere and are very rarely seen so far South - a real treat at 3am this morning as the mist started to fill the famous Earthworks around Knowlton.
Arriving to a turquoise blue sky, filled with silver clouds dancing above the church was truly mesmerising. A scene that I wish I could have shared with you in a video, but unfortunately it was too dark for my phone to focus, so hopefully this picture does this incredible phenomena justice.
