Beautiful aerial footage of Sliabh Liag / Slieve League, Co. Donegal The Sliabh Liag Cliffs are one of the most impressive natural attractions anywhere in Ireland and the beautiful scenery is second to none. Located near Teelin in Glencolmcille it is famous for its sea cliffs, which are among the highest in Europe, rising up to 601 meters (1,972 feet) above the Atlantic Ocean. The cliffs are nearly 3 times the height of the Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare which makes this a must visit attraction when in Ireland! The cliffs of Sliabh Liag are a popular tourist destination and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape and ocean. Visitors can hike to the top of the mountain to see the cliffs up close. There are also a number of boat tours available along the coast to view the Slieve League cliffs from the water. 💚 💛 Narin Beach, Portnoo, County Donegal 💚 💛 One of the nicest beaches in Ireland! This is a fabulous blue flag beach. A beautiful setting looking out towards Inishkeel Island. When the tide is low one can walk from Narin out to the island. The beach is popular for walking, swimming, kite flying and it is known as a very clean and beautiful beach. A beautiful beach for walking for families to spend time together and for dog walkers. It doesn't matter what the weather is, this beach is still beautiful. The scenery is truly breathtaking. Narin & Portnoo Links is a Championship 18 Hole Golf Course with fantastic views that has seen a major redesign and upgrade over the past few years by Philadelphia based golf course Architect Gil Hanse. Burt Castle overlooking Lough Swilly, Co. Donegal Beautiful County Donegal GAA colours! A yellow rapeseed flower field. Around April every year is the time when some crop fields turn yellow in Ireland. Burt Castle is one of Donegal’s best known castles due to its prominent location along the Letterkenny to Derry Road. Burt Castle is located about 9 km southwest of Burnfoot. The tower is situated on private farmland and permission should be sought for access. Beautiful bright colours over Culdaff Beach, Inishowen 27/04/2024 The Northern Lights brightening the sky over Culdaff Beach, County Donegal recently. The Northern Lights were seen a number of times last year all over different areas of County Donegal. The Northern Lights are an atmospheric phenomenon that's regarded as the Holy Grail of skywatching. Aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is a natural light display that occurs in the polar regions, mainly in the Arctic. It is caused by the interaction between charged particles from the sun and the Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere. The charged particles, mainly electrons and protons, are released by the sun in the form of solar wind. When they enter the Earth's magnetic field, they are deflected towards the poles and collide with gas molecules in the upper atmosphere. It is the tallest peak of the Derryveagh Mountains and the tallest peak in County Donegal. Errigal is also the most southern, steepest and highest of the mountain chain, called the "Seven Sisters". Errigal was voted 'Ireland's Most Iconic Mountain' by Walking & Hiking Ireland in 2009.
