I'm Just a Nerd Trying to See The World One Adventure at a Time...

Temple Bar ~ Dublin, Ireland

Temple Bar ~ Dublin, Ireland

The Temple Bar is an actual bar - but it is also so much more than that. The entire area surrounding Temple Bar is closed off to cars so it is just magnificent cobble stoned streets to walking with bars and shops galore. Need I say more?

Well I'll say more anyway, just for fun...

My first experience at Temple Bar was on St. Patrick's Day. It was complete party chaos - which to an 18 year old was the perfect recipe for a great night out in Dublin. Tons of people drinking, singing, dancing, and having a fantastic time. I will say though, that of all of the people we talked to that whole day and night we did not met a single local. Everyone who goes to Temple Bar on St. Patrick's Day is a tourist from somewhere. So if you're looking for a more organic authentic Irish pub experience, there are literally thousands of others to choose from. However, I would still recommend stopping at the Temple Bar area for a pint or two or some shopping. Even though it was full of tourists, there were tourists from all over the world. Never again have I drank a pint with people from South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and France all at the same time. It truly was a melting pot full of different cultures all drinking pints of Guinness together in peace.

I have been back to Temple Bar on a more normal day and it was significantly more toned down - but still a great time!

Adventure Always.
