Beautician Asks for Advice After Being Sent Offer to Sabotage Appointment

An eyebrow artist found herself at the centre of controversy after being approached by a woman with an unusual request.

On February 20, Yuliia Holturenko, 21, received a text message from a woman. She had found out that her boyfriend had cheated on her with her best friend, who was booked in to get her eyebrows done. The message was shared on Instagram (@juulbrows) and amassed more than 28.6 million views and over 940,000 likes.

Holturenko told Newsweek: "I was puzzled by this message, and for a long time did not know what to answer, on the one hand, you can understand the girl who was betrayed by two close people at once, but on the other hand, I realized that it could destroy my business."

Of course, the woman didn't expect Holterenko to do her dirty work for free; she offered to pay triple the price, at $450.

An excerpt from the text message reads: "I wanted to ask you to give her the worst eyebrows of her life." It is followed by: "Better yet, make them as thin as possible, since she's trying to grow them out." The end of the message reads: "I'm really hoping for your female solidarity."

Holturenko, who lives in Toronto, Canada, appears to be considering it in the video.

She told Newsweek: "The decision was difficult to make, because I wanted to support this girl. But, realizing all the difficulties for my business, I decided to leave the three of them to deal with the situation on their own."

This choice meant she lost out on $150 as the client was scheduled to have two procedures.

In the comment section, Holturenko told other users: "I left the three of them to deal with it, because it's none of my business. BUT IF A FRIEND OF MINE HAD ASKED ME TO DO IT, AT A HIGHER PRICE. I'd say yes. P.S. I hope this girl also thought of a decent revenge for her boyfriend."

"Eyebrows grow back she can think of something better," wrote one user.

Prior to posting an update, Holturenko was encouraged by many to "just do it," but some people did warn her to think about her business.

"I'd really have to fight with myself to not just wax them clean off because I'm a girls girl but also still having to maintain some level of professionalism," posted another user.

A third posted: "I woulda screwed up those brows so fast."

A fourth commented: "Why ruin your reputation with something nothing to do with you. Work with integrity. Your clients life is none of your business."
