Cork football manager Billy Morgan has been handed a boost with the news that Noel O'Leary has been cleared to play in the Bank of Ireland All-Ireland football final.

O'Leary was yellow carded during Sunday's semi-final victory over Meath when he appeared to strike Graham Geraghty.

Under GAA rules the Central Competitions Control Committee are entitled to review controversial incidents and make contact with referees to see if they were happy with how they dealt with them.

However the match referee Brian Crowe has stuck with his initial decision to book the defender despite video evidence which showed him striking Geraghty.

The committee met yesterday and sent Crowe a copy of the incident, but the Cavan official has said he is satisfied he dealt with the matter correctly.
