The beach is nearby to the affluent neighbourhood of Clontarf, but has high rates of antisocial behaviour.

The log books reveals that three people were pricked by discarded syringes on the beach during a two day period last year - one a pregnant woman, and one a young girl.

One entry read: “June 18, 2017. 12.55pm Woman presented with needle that she stood on. Wound cleaned and covered. Advised to seek further medical attention and agreed to do so. Panic in patient due to pregnancy.”

The notes were released by Dublin City Council under the Freedom of Information Act.

Lifeguards also revealed in their notes that men had been caught having sex in the sand dunes in 2017, with the police being called.

The notes read: “Reports of two men in dunes without clothes, engaging in sexual acts.

“Approached and asked to move on. One failed to do so and cycled down the beach.”

Later on the same day, the police were called again to the beach after “young teens” were reported to be drinking there.

Two weeks later, an adult was found passed out from drinking in the same place.

In this case the entry reads: “Informed of a male collapsed [on] rocks approx… patient was unconscious upon arrival — not pain or voice responsive.

“When [he] came around [he] complained of chest pain. Found out patient had been drinking heavily. Handed over to paramedics and removed by ambulance.”

There were also reports of “weird” men who had been reported following women on the beach or watching them from bushes.

The log books also reveal that a father had a confrontation with a man who was accused of watching his young daughter getting changed in a cubicle.

The entry in this case read: “June 19, 2017. Man accused of looking at little girl changing, father of girl threw water on [the man].”

Dollymount Strand is around four miles from Dublin and is a popular spot for tourists and locals to visit at the weekend.

It's the fourth best beach in Dublin, according to TripAdvisor rankings.

Sun Online Travel previously revealed that a man was made to drive hundreds of miles from the Midlands to Cornwall to return pebbles that he was caught "stealing" from the beach.
