“He would dearly like it back.

“His TV shows have been a part of so many childhoods and hopes somehow he can be reunited with his bike.”

The Camino de Santiago is a thousand year old pilgrimage route across Europe to Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain.

Timmy, famous for striking and lairy outfits as well as a giant foam mallet, started the journey in England and crossed three countries over two months.

He did more than a hundred paintings on the way and the pilgrimage was even supported by Prime Minister Theresa May, who posed for a picture with Timmy and the bike.

But just five days before he began the journey in April he suffered a heartache when his brother Martin died aged 64.

He spoke to Sun columnist Lorraine Kelly he considered abandoning the cycle due to the tragedy.

Timmy's brother Paul discovered bundles of clothing labels with Martin's name on them and decided to leave these at various places along the route to make sure he carried Martin with him.

The former Wide Awake Club presenter said: “Five days before I set out Martin passed away and this threw everything into confusion because suddenly it changed the aspect of how I was going to mark this journey.

"My brother Paul found these in amongst his things - he found these Martin Mallett name tags - the sort of thing you would sew into your clothes when you go to school so you don't lose them.

"I had a bundle of these and I decided every day I would leave a Martin Mallett name tag somewhere special."
