Discarded syringes, women being stalked by “weird” individuals lurking in bushes and naked men having sex in sand dunes were among the complaints recorded at one of Dublin’s most popular beaches last year.

Logbooks compiled by lifeguards at Dollymount Strand revealed a pattern of antisocial behaviour at the landmark seafront spot near the affluent suburb of Clontarf.

Three people, including a pregnant woman and a young girl, sought first aid from lifeguards after being pricked by discarded needles over two days last year.
