Two men in court charged with murder of Croatian man in Dublin

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a Croatian man in Dublin.

Josip Strok, 31, and David Druzinec, 28, were seriously assaulted in Clondalkin on March 30.

Mr Strok died on April 3.

Conor Rafferty, 18, from Castlegrance Close in Clondalkin, and Anthony Delappe, 19, from Grange View Way in Clondalkin, appeared at Blanchardstown District Court on Friday charged with the murder of Mr Strok and the assault causing harm of Mr Druzinec.

Garda Patrick Fallon told the court Rafferty, who appeared wearing a grey and black tracksuit, was arrested at 10.05pm on Thursday and was charged under caution at 10.27pm.

Garda Barry O’Shea said Delappe, who appeared in court wearing a navy and grey tracksuit, was arrested at 8.50pm at Ballyfermot Garda Station on Thursday and was charged under caution at 9.49pm.

The court heard neither man made any reply to the charges under caution.

Applications for legal aid were granted for both men, and they were remanded in Cloverhill prison to appear before the courts again on May 2.
