RTÉ and the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland with the OPW present Eye on Nature - Ireland's newest national wildlife photographic competition.

RTÉ's Mooney Goes Wild and The Today Show launched the competition in January 2021, to celebrate the flora and fauna of our island. It received an overwhelming response, with more than 7,000 entries.

The judging panel, consisting of Matthew Jebb (National Botanic Gardens), Niall Hatch (BirdWatch Ireland) and Sheena Jolley (acclaimed wildlife photographer), chose the final 12 photographs you see exhibited here, including the overall winner.

These photographs represent the rich natural heritage that Ireland has to offer, which has brought joy and hope to so many of us in recent times.

On March 17th Derek Mooney will announce the winner live on the Today Show and present the photographer with the inaugural trophy and a prize of €1,000. In the coming months, the exhibition will travel to other Office of Public Works sites across the country.

Cuirfidh RTÉ agus Garraithe Náisiúnta na Lus i gcomhar leis an OPW Eye on Nature i láthair - an comórtas náisiúnta grianghrafadóireachta fiadhúlra is déanaí sa tír.

Sheol Mooney Goes Wild agus The Today Show RTÉ an comórtas in Eanáir 2021 chun flóra agus fána na hÉireann a cheiliúradh. Chuir go leor isteach ar an gcomórtas agus fuarthas níos mó ná 7,000 iarratas.

Roghnaigh Matthew Jebb (Garraithe Náisiúnta na Lus), Niall Hatch (BirdWatch Ireland) and Sheena Jolley (grianghrafadóir fiadhúlra cáiliúil), a bhí ar an bpainéal moltóireachta, an 12 ghrianghraf atá ar taispeáint anseo, buaiteoir iomlán an chomórtais ina measc.

Is léargas iad na grianghraif seo ar oidhreacht nádúrtha iontach na hÉireann, oidhreacht a chuir an-chuid lúcháire agus a bhí ina ábhar sóláis do go leor againn le tamall beag anuas.

D'fhógair Derek Mooney an buaiteoir beo ar the Today Show an 17 Márta agus bhronn an chéad chorn de chuid an chomórtais chomh maith le duais €1,000 ar an ngrianghrafadóir. Tabharfar an taispeántas chuig láithreacha eile de chuid Oifig na nOibreacha Poiblí ar fud na tíre sna míonna amach romhainn.
