Sarah Michelle Gellar has been pretty quiet on us lately – but that could all be about to change as she’s set to front a new TV mini-series, Sometimes I Lie.

The Buffy actress, who was last seen on-screen for a brief return to her Cruel Intentions character in a TV reboot in 2016, is set to play a woman who wakes up in hospital unable to open her eyes.

Based on the book by Alice Feeney, the character, Amber Reynolds, will be unable to communicate with those around her to let them know that she’s conscious, leaving everyone thinking she’s in a coma.

Over the course of the series, viewers will see what happened to her before the accident, what or who caused it, and what’s being discussed around her when they think she’s not listening.

However, there’s a catch as the series, which Sarah is co-producing alongside Ellen DeGeneres, hasn’t been given the green light just yet as a network is yet to pick it up.

This means that the show may not even get off the ground, just like the Cruel Intentions series, which never made it past the pilot.

In the meantime, Sarah has been keeping herself more than busy off the screen, voicing several characters in long-running cult fave, Robot Chicken.

She also became part of the Star Wars Universe as the Seventh Sister in TV series, Star Wars Rebels.

The actress has also been a strong source of support for fellow actress Shannen Doherty throughout her cancer battle.
