NIGEL Farage criticised the idea of a second Brexit referendum and insisted the mere existence of a second vote would be the “biggest fingers up” to Brexit voters.

Farage: A pro-Brexit referendum would be ‘TWO FINGERS up’

Former Ukip leader and LBC host Nigel Farage has been consistently outspoken about his fears of a so-called “People’s Vote”. While on Robert Peston’s ITV show, he explained a call for a second referendum would be a massive insult to those who voted for Brexit. Mr Farage was asked, in the event of a second referendum, whether he believed that Leave would again win. Mr Farage responded: “Oh I think it would the biggest Anglo-Saxon two fingers up you have seen in your life.

People in London have any idea just how angry millions of people are

“I don’t think people in London have any idea just how angry millions of people are.

“With the fact that the vote is effectively being betrayed by politicians in Parliament."

Viewers took to Twitter to voice their support for the LBC hosts comments.

One social media user agreed strongly and said: “People who voted leave will simply not bother voting again.

“What is the point, the only true outcome of a 2nd vote would be for exactly the same number of people voting or more.

“Anything less would be two fingers unto democracy which will have ended the day a 2nd vote was announced.”

Another Tweeted: “We make assumptions that a referendum will require a Remain option, why can’t the referendum be something like Deal or WTO.”

Theresa May’s failure to get her “Plan A” Brexit withdrawal through Parliament has increased the likelihood of a second referendum instead of a no deal Brexit.

Lord Pearson: European Commission is the ENEMY of Brexit

Mrs May will have the House of Commons vote on her “Plan B” Brexit agreement on the 29th of February but many sceptics are unconvinced that the Prime Minister has made significant changes to push it through Parliament.

Both Remainers and Brexiteers are convinced that in the event of a second referendum their side will emerge victoriously.

Mr Farage earlier this month said that he believes should a People’s vote happen “It will be a much bigger vote to leave than before.”
