MANCHESTER UNITED want to have the Alvaro Morata deal wrapped up before his wedding - this weekend.

Manchester United have made progress on the deal to sign Morata from Real Madrid.

They’ve held talks with Madrid chiefs and are hopeful Morata will be in town for a medical before the week’s out.

Morata’s agent revealed United had made a ‘very important offer’ for the Spain striker.

"It's a club with a lot charm, a very interesting option," Lopez told Calciomercato of United.

"I can say that there's a very important offer and the decision now rests with Real.

"I cannot tell (if an agreement is close), we'll see."

Morata became United’s number one target to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic once deals for Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku fell through.

Griezmann had been United’s top target but United changed their priority following Ibrahimovic’s injury and the Madrid star has now signed an extension.

Lukaku meanwhile looks set to join Chelsea from Everton.

But the Manchester Evening News claim United are keen to wrap up the Morata deal before he gets married to fiancee Alice Campello on Saturday.

United are close to announcing their first summer signing with Victor Lindelof due at Carrington tomorrow to undergo a medical.

And they Morata won’t be too far behind as Mourinho goes about spending £200m this summer.

United are believed to be considering moves for two strikers, of which Morata would be the first, with Andrea Belotti under consideration.

Mourinho also wants a midfielder with Eric Dier and Nemanja Matic on his radar and he is also keeping track of goalkeepers with David de Gea’s future still slightly uncertain with Real Madrid keen.

However their interested has appeared to wane with faith being kept in Keylor Navas following the Champions League success.
