• Meghan Markle and Prince Harry didn't snub the queen by not visiting her at Balmoral Castle this summer like most members of the royal family do.
  • The couple didn't schedule a visit to the monarch's Scottish residence because "they were both working through a majority of August" and often see her in Windsor, according to a source.
  • Harry and Meghan are "very close" with the sovereign, as their home, Frogmore Cottage is located in Windsor.

Let's put the rumors to rest right now. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry haven't snubbed the queen's invitation to spend time at her Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle.

While it is true that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn't visit the monarch and her husband, Prince Philip, like other royals did this summer, their absence is no sign of any bad blood. It was simply a matter of scheduling. Besides, as residents of Windsor's Frogmore Cottage, Harry and Meghan often see the queen whenever she's at Windsor Castle.

A source close to the couple tells BAZAAR.com, “Given that they were both working through the majority of August it was not something that was scheduled this summer. Plus, it’s worth noting that the family often see the queen when she is at Windsor. They are very close.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Windsor this spring, moving out of Kensington Palace's Nottingham Cottage ahead of welcoming their son, Archie. One of the first photos they shared of their baby featured the queen, Prince Philip, and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, in the halls of Windsor Castle.

It's customary for royals to visit the queen at Balmoral in the summer months before public engagements pick back up in September. In August, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children were seen flying out to Scotland, and the royal couple was later seen having lunch with the sovereign and other relatives.
