Garda are hunting a suspect who sent poisoned chocolates to staff at a top Dublin hotel.

The perpetrator sent a box of contaminated sweets which were laced with a substance - now believed to be cannabis - to the White Sands Hotel in Portmarnock.

An innocent taxi man unwittingly delivered the Ferrero Rocher chocolates after he had been hired in Donnycarney by the suspect, the Irish Mirror has learned.

A man and a woman fell ill after eating the chocolates and were taken to hospital.
