Dog owners warned after pets catch 'mysterious illness' in popular Dublin park

A number of people have said their dogs are vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea after walking their dog there

Dog owners in Dublin have been warned as a number of pets have fallen sick after visiting a popular park.

It is not known why dogs are getting ill, but a community group for St Anne's Park in Raheny is asking people to be extra vigilant if walking their dogs there.

Taking to the Facebook group, the post explained that there is speculation "a virus is going around" which is causing people's beloved pets to fall ill.

The post on the community group reads as follows: "Attention dog owners:

"We've received a few reports today of dogs being sick after visiting the park. There is speculation that a virus is going around.

"These reports are unconfirmed, but just to be on the safe side, please keep an eye on your dogs.

"If you notice your dog's digestion is upset, they're off their food, if they're vomiting or have diarrhoea please contact a vet."

The comments section was soon flooded with people saying their dogs were suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea after visiting the park.
