An investigation is under way into a shooting incident after shots were fired at a house in Shankill, Dublin last night.

Several shots were fired at the house in Rathsallagh Park at around 11.30pm.

A family was in the house at the time, but no injuries were reported.

A garda helicopter took part in a follow-up search, but no arrests have been made as yet.

The area around the house has been sealed off and a forensic examination was carried out.

An appeal for information has been issued, and anyone who was in the Rathsallagh area at 11.30pm last night is asked to contact Shankill Garda Station on 01-6665900 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
