DUNDEE are trying to tempt Manchester City midfielder Jack Byrne into making a loan switch.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 cap spent the first half of the season at Blackburn.
But he was recalled to the Etihad last week after making just four appearances for Rovers.
City are keen for the 20-year-old to join a club where he will gain more first team experience.
That has alerted Dens boss Paul Hartley, who could now attempt to persuade him to head north this month.
He has experience of first-team football outside of England, having spent last season at Dutch outfit Camber.
He has been at City since he was 15 and scored six goals in eight UEFA Youth League games for their Under-19s side in the 2014/15 campaign.
