BUYER BEWARE--- FAKE!!!
StarrTaggart· Review provided by walmart.com · November 17, 2024
I don't leave many reviews... I don't believe in blasting people or businesses, but I feel the need to share my experience and hopefully save someone else from making the same mistake as I did b/c I believe I was sold a fake item. It is stamped "Stanley" everywhere normal and also stamped "dishwasher safe" at the bottom of the tumbler, but the paint started peeling almost immediately after the first wash and has progressively continued. I contacted Walmart, was told my return time had expired, and I needed to contact the seller. Every attempt I have made to contact the seller has been met with a "we are currently experiencing technical issues" error message. I've tried different times and different days, but every single time is the same message... I believe this is intentional. Not only do I not believe this is an authentic Stanley tumbler, I also believe there are deceptive selling practices with this item AND that this seller should be kicked off walmart.com for their deceptive selling practices. I am not the only person who has had this experience, and Walmart is continuing to allow it... shame on them! Like you reading this right now, I thought, "What a great deal!" But, you really do get what you pay for, and I purchased it, trying to save a few bucks... but, I got a dupe, a fake, a non-authentic item... call it what you want. I feel stupid... but lesson learned and experience shared. Don't make the same mistake... just pay a few more dollars directly to Stanley and stop with all these third party sellers, especially this one... they're all in it for the money, obviously don't care about the customer receiving a quality product, and ultimately are not suffering any repercussions from their actions b/c they're still here... still selling... and people still buying... still trying to save a buck.
Pretty color, but…..

So I have a lot of re-usable cups/mugs/tumblers; I vary depending on my mood, but they all average around 20 - 24 oz. Saw the Stanley 40 oz quencher in Pomelo and fell in love - the prettiest shade of pale yellow that I had to buy it. I actually bought two - one to just keep at work, and one to always stay in my car so I can stay better hydrated as I drive a LOT between 3 states. So, a few things that bugs me:

1) When this tumbler is full, it’s insanely heavy, and the handle feels awkward to grasp - it feels like WAY too much weight on the handle. I end up sliding my hand inside the handle so my hand cups the tumbler but I still have to hold it with my other hand because it is REALLY heavy when full. I have read a lot of reviews between here and the Stanley website where people have issues with the handle breaking. I would assume it’s because of the weight issue when full which a plastic handle can’t continuously take. I know Stanley offers a “lifetime warranty” so I would recommend if you buy it, save your receipt and the SKU label just in case. And maybe don’t fill it up all the way.

2) It’s a bit “top heavy” when full due to the narrower base (car cup-holder design) and can tip easily if you accidentally bump into it even slightly. I have to be careful where I set my tumbler down due to this. I love the color, but the design could use some tweaking.
[Rewarded Review] Stanley is Groovy, Baby. Yeah.

I had seen all of the rage about Stanley tumblers but thought I would be just fine drinking out of my collection of Yetis. Things changed when Academy sent me a teaser e-mail about the new design made exclusively for them by Stanley. The bright, happy, psychedelic colors lured me in, so I anxiously awaited the day I could purchase one. Once I did, I didn't regret it. It's even cuter in person! I didn't know I needed a handle until now, but apparently, I do. It really keeps drinks cold for hours and sometimes, my ice from the night before is still in there when I open it in the morning. There are only 2 things I don't like. The first is having an open straw that I can't seal closed. I know I can solve this with a straw cap, but it's not ideal. The other thing that is a little frustrating is the screw-on lid. It sometimes takes me several attempts to get it aligned and on the right side. I see why they designed it this way since it can work for both left-handed and right-handed people, but it does take a little time and patience sometimes to get it on right. Overall, I love this mug and am now officially a member of the "Big, Dumb Mug" Club, but I'm not mad about it. :)
It's a vessel, it holds fluids.

I bought it because why not. It's not the most practical thing, but it holds fluids to drink. To be honest my Nalgene does this. If you want an ultra tough made for abuse drinking vessel that never leaks, this is the bottle for you. However, if you want to prove a point, have a lovely colour, buy something frivolous then this is the " it " cup for you. I'll probably never use it, but I can say I've bought into the craze. Did I mention the lovely colour ? And the fact it's a craze ?
As I head out to the hills, packing my ultra no nonsense leak proof Nalgene ( 1.5l ) I can be smug in the fact at home, I have the latest Stanley cup sitting pristine on display. I believe it leaks if tipped but I can confirm it does sit bonny in my cars cup holders, for folks to peer in and gaze upon its stanleyness. I do worry about its mould growth, but I'm assured if you just gaze at it now and again, this won't happen. Meanwhile, the wide mouth of the Nalgene allows for great cleaning, good gulping and is indispensable as it can hook round a back pack or sit upside down for days and be fine.
Back to my mist display cup, it's so heavy it holds all my bills under it safely when the kitchen window is open. Whew ! I knew I would find a use for it ! Did I mention the pretty colour of mist ? It is a cup of joy to the eye, I believe it's very much in vogue.
I'm sure it will last for decades and still look good. And I have my Nalgene to hydrate. Best of both worlds !
