September 15, 2021I personally loved this most recent Advent Calendar. This is my 3rd year collecting them, and I would say it is just about as good as the past years.
Realistically, buyers know exactly what they are getting when they spend $40 on this, so nobody should really be complaining about the price/value. At 335 pieces, this set is pretty close to the mystical $.10/piece valuation that so many cling to. It is more than the last 2 years on piece count, so be happy for that.
The build selection is overall pretty varied, and decent. I like the mini figures, as Stormtroopers and Scout Troopers are some of my favorites. This calendar leans heavily towards the Mandalorian theme, which is understandable, given it's popularity. There are only a few builds that are somewhat lackluster, but the better ones make up for that.
Overall, I think this is a hit. And as it is Star Wars themed, I'm sure most Star Wars fans will appreciate it for what it is.

October 2, 2021I bought this Star Wars themed with the Marvel and Harry Potter calendars for my son, who is 10, because he loves to open them early, and play with the builds and the figures. This has been our tradition for the past 4 years now. However, it seems only two figures for the Mandalorian and baby Yoda are the two pieces from this Star Wars Calendar that attracts his interest. I was surprised since he is a big Star Wars fan. He told me the Harry Potter one is so much better and colorful. I have been a LEGO creator fan and hobbits for a long time ,and I guess now, my son also sees if a set has value or not. I would not recommend this set because if you are buying it as a gift for a child, in all honesty, for it value, it is an average set. Buy The Armorer's Mandalorian Forge, or other advent calendars instead they are better value and more fun.
Best calender for alternative builds

January 8, 2022Every year I gift my husband a LEGO advent calendar with the challenge to build something else than what is in the instruction of the day.
He normally doesn't build any LEGO throughout the year but he always wants one calendar for December :D
This calendar had the most bricks per day and each day (except when there was a minifigure) we puzzled the pieces around together having a lot of fun to get a really cool alternative build.
Our best and most good-looking builds were the steampunk locomotive (Day1), an espresso machine (Day6) and a health robot (Day17).
In terms of alternate builds, this calendar is our winner!
Overall, I would also like to mention, that all the calendars were well balanced in terms of minifigures, having at least 1 per day and not all at once :)
3-4 calendar days for one set repeatedly

November 15, 2021After some debating, I decided to open this set, and what a surprise! This is the most uninspired set I have ever purchased. Having to open 3 to 4 doors to get a complete set was the biggest shocker. One for a minifigure, one for a turret, one for small targets, and one for blasters and a small stand? These could have easily been one door like in the Harry Potter calendar. And this happens a few times--not just once! Worse yet, they are boring! Obviously there is a lack of ideas for this calendar. A couple ships are creative, but there could have been much more.
